Marriage Confusion McSkelly/Miskelly

I did say there might be errors and here is perhaps one going right back to 1866. When I first started out back in 1999 or so there was only the Mormon web site to have a look at to get you started.  According to them Elizabeth Miskelly born 1865 or there about married a Peter Nimmey in Carlisle in 1866. Also listed are a number of their children which of course made me think it was an ok record.

Now someone has gone back and checked and there is no recorded marriage for Elizabeth and Peter at that time. In 1864 there is a marriage for an Elizabeth McSKELLY born around 1864 unfortunately the only Elizabeth born that year was a MISKELLY  but she marries either a John ROOK or a George CHISHOLM.

I can not figure it out so if any one could help I would be most grateful. I could apply for a certificate but am asking for help first.

Update 04-03-11

I have now checked the 1871 and the 1881 cenus to trace either Elizabeth Rook or Elizabeth Chisholm. There is no trace of either in the English or Scottish census. So the mystery deepens.  I also checked out the other female with the same reference number, Jane C0rry, but again no trace in either census.

I have checked several family history web sites and looked at the original 1866 records and yes the four names on the page all have the same reference number but none seem to have married each other. If they did then they have mysteriously disappeared or did not take part in the census.

Again if anyone can help I would be grateful otherwise I shall have to apply for a certificate and see what the register office comes up with.
